The ISAAC Program

The ISAAC (Improving Student Affinity and Aptitude for Careers in STEM) program provides students in middle and high schools with a rare opportunity to become immersed in an authentic laboratory environment and investigate real-world STEM problems. Students conduct rigorous, age-appropriate experiments designed to reinforce Next Generations Science Standards. STEM professionals and volunteer scientists from the community and local corporations serve as Assistant Instructors and role models and accompany each group of students as they participate in these programs.

V-Laboratory

The Virtual Laboratory (V-Lab) program provides teachers a turn-key opportunity to bring problem-and project-based learning into the classroom – it removes the barriers of geography and travel, bringing high-quality science and content experts directly into classrooms or non-traditional educational settings. Using state-of- the-art technology, the V-Lab program enables students in classrooms (as well as after-school programs, camps and other settings) and the Students 2 Science Technology Center to simultaneously conduct a series of challenging, age-appropriate, hands-on science experiments promoting 21st century skills.

Professional Development for Educators

Students 2 Science (S2S) is dedicated to supporting educators in improving scientific literacy and in providing authentic, relevant, hands-on STEM education to our youth. Just one day at our laboratory can serve as 6 hours towards professional development for the year. S2S programs demonstrate Next Generation Science Standards and promote problem- and project-based learning, providing teachers with increased confidence and technical assistance.

After-School and Summer Programming

Science does not end in school but happens at all times of the day, whether in school, after-school programs, camps, hospitals, or with parents. Students 2 Science (S2S) is in the process of piloting its Virtual Laboratory (V-Lab) program in two non-traditional settings, with further program development on the horizon.
