The Career Advancement Program (CAP) supports students in grades 10-12 from current Students 2 Science (S2S) partner schools and districts by providing guided post-secondary pathway exploration and hands-on STEM career development opportunities.
CAP empowers emerging talent to confidently navigate their academic and professional journeys by connecting students with industry experts, experiential learning opportunities, and individualized coaching. Through partnerships with schools, corporations, and community stakeholders, CAP creates meaningful opportunities for students to explore STEM careers while engaging professionals in the development of the future workforce. Through transformative programming focused on career readiness, professional development, and STEM identity-building, CAP helps shape the next generation of scientists, engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers while providing the skills, exposure, and connections needed to pursue rewarding educational and career pathways in STEM.
CAP Signature Programs
- ISAAC Internship: Project-based internships for high school (16+) and college students provide opportunities to collaborate with S2S staff and industry professionals while gaining valuable workplace experience. Interns receive career-readiness training, resume and interview coaching, and direct exposure to STEM professionals and hiring managers.
- STEM Pathways Mentoring (STEMPath): Students in grades 11-12 participate in one-on-one, 2:1, and group mentoring experiences with relatable STEM professionals. Through these meaningful connections, students receive guidance, explore career pathways, expand their professional networks, and strengthen their readiness for future success.
